Origins
Our History
Our legacy dates back to the time when phylloxera devastated the vineyards of France, and our great-grandfather Bartolomé Rubí led the massive export of wines from the ports of Palma and Sóller to France.
However, the plague also affected the vines on our island. In 1912, our great-grandfather restarted bulk wine production, followed by his son Antonio, who continued the tradition until the Civil War interrupted the activity in 1936. It was not until 1960 that Bartolomé Rubí, Sr. took up winemaking again.
Although our winery in Santa María started out producing wine in bulk, we have developed extensive experience in bottling, which is growing year after year.
The current owners, Lorenzo Rubí and Tomeu Rubí, represent the fourth generation of the Rubí family. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and new techniques, we have launched several lines of high quality wines.
At Bodega Can Rubí, we honour our family roots and combine tradition with innovation. Our commitment is to offer exceptional wines that reflect the legacy of our land and the passionate work of our family.
